Jimmy Garoppolo Gets Huge Payday

Jimmy Garoppolo finally got his turn in the limelight after the New England Patriots decided to trade him to the San Francisco 49er's for a third-round pick. Jimmy Garoppolo, drafted in 2014 by the Patriots out of East Illinois, was seen by many to be the predecessor to Tom Brady's legacy. After getting two Superbowl rings and only a couple starts under Head Coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots decided to part ways and trade the former second-round QB.

After an impressive stint with the 49er's, Jimmy Garoppolo inked a 5 year, $137.5 million deal with San Francisco, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The deal will break an NFL record for highest average salary at $27.5 per year. After just five starts with the Niner's, Jimmy Garoppolo is now the highest paid player in the NFL. Garoppolo did however go 5-0 in those starts and tossed for over 1,500 yards and 7 touchdowns.
