(Uh-)Ohtani

Nobody was more ecstatic about Shohei Ohtani's decision to play in the MLB than the Angels. Once a highly sought-after target, the Japanese native made it known that he wanted to pitch and hit for whichever team signed him. Everyone waited to see whether or not he would live up to the expectations brought upon him. Ohtani started as his major league career hot, pitching and hitting. His current stats include a 4-1 record, 3.10 ERA and 61 K as well as .289 AVG, 6 HR and 20 RBI. Unfortunately, Ohtani's two-way style of play might have a costly side effect. It was recently claimed that Ohtani, or ShoTime, could need Tommy John Surgery which would prevent him from returning until 2020. He was diagnosed with a Grade 2 UCL strain. The Angels plan to wait three weeks until they re-evaluate. They could risk it and keep him as a hitter only and avoid surgery but that could prove drastic.
